German and military SplashMaps Stretch neck warmers

SitrepandGermanNeck warmer

Desert Camouflage on the reverse side of the Brecon Beacons SplashMap Stretch Neck warmer

Our latest bespoke SplashMaps Stretch neck warmers were made for Sitrep, a team of veteran military service men from the Royal Signals, and the SplashMaps mountain bike team in Germany.

“Sitrep are marking the 50th anniversary and bringing 200 colleagues together to take-on the famous training areas of the Brecon Beacons,” says organiser Ian Wells.

Sitrep were after something unique, functional and useful for navigation and striking as a memento.  We made the head-ware reversible with desert camouflage on one side and a 1:40 000 map in our in-house style centred on the notorious Pen y Fan mountain.

The German SplashMaps mountain bike team needed the maps to find the trails and bring unity to the newly formed group.  The German bike team are all part of our plans to export more product during 2016.

SplashMaps Facts:

Did you know that 40 000 Prisoners of War were repatriated safely to Great Britain during World War 2 thanks to their use of secret maps printed onto parachute silk?  This story has always inspired us and the neck warmers are a great example of how we’ve brought that military idea up to date.  It’s so good to see service men and veterans taking this product to heart.
