This season, adventurers across Europe are proving that journeys are best remembered when they’re carried in your pocket, wrapped around your neck, or spread out at camp as a trusty SplashMap. From coastal hikes to horseback expeditions, our community continues to inspire us with stories from the trail, the saddle, and the shoreline.
Across the waves to hike the GR120

We were especially grateful to receive updates from Martin Brabham, who recently tackled the spectacular GR120 coastal path in Northern France. Martin embraced the spirit of adventure from the very start, travelling to the trailhead aboard a regular sailing catamaran service before setting off on foot along the dramatic coastline. His feedback reminded us exactly why reliable navigation still matters in the digital age. As Martin shared, “Interestingly the SplashMap was more accurate than Google Earth for finding the coastal path.” For those walking remote or ever-changing routes, having a durable, weatherproof map that works without batteries can make all the difference.
Riding the Camino

Meanwhile, Michael Hayle explored Northern Spain in unforgettable style — cantering across stunning landscapes on horseback. It’s exactly the sort of ambitious, personal adventure that SplashMaps was created to support. Michael is already planning his next journey, telling us, “I have just bought your Camino Portuguese map as that is the next ‘camino’ I have in our family plans, hopefully in Spring 2027.” We love hearing how one adventure naturally leads to another.
Wet, but never dishevelled, SplashMapping the SW Coast Path

Closer to home, our founder David Overton recently persuaded eight friends to join him for a thoroughly rain-drenched stretch of the South West Coast Path. Wet weather, tired legs and muddy boots only strengthened the sense of camaraderie that shared challenges create.
Whether you’re walking, riding, paddling or planning your next family expedition, SplashMaps are becoming part of the story — not just a tool for navigation, but a keepsake of adventures lived well.
