🎄 Forget the Socks. Give Them an Adventure This Christmas!

The best Christmas gifts don’t just sit under the tree. They take you places.

Another pair of socks? A scented candle? Something that’ll be forgotten by New Year?

Or how about a personalised map, printed on fabulous, weatherproof fabric, of somewhere they love, or dream of visiting?

At SplashMaps, we reckon a map is one of the most thoughtful, personal and downright useful gifts you can give an adventurer. And our Halloween competition has just reminded us why!

We challenged you to use our online Map Maker to create maps with titles that would make us Cringe, Scream or Laugh. And blimey, you delivered!

WINNER!! 👻 Tara took us into the spooky depths of Dartmoor National Park, sharing stories of its darkest locations.

😱 Emma pointed us towards the site from which Hitler planned some of history’s most evil deeds.

😂 Maggie had us blushing with her map of Titty Hill. Yes, really!

🤢 Evan went sniffing around Death Valley to find us its smelliest spot.

And then there were those who shared memories of military training at the legendary horrors of Sennybridge training grounds. Some adventures, it seems, are best remembered from the comfort of your sofa!

But here’s the thing. Every one of these wonderfully individual ideas started with the same simple tool: our free online Map Maker.

You can make one too. And it takes less than a minute to get started.

🗺️ Choose anywhere in the world. That favourite walking route, a first date location, a mountain summit, a family holiday destination or the place where your next great adventure begins.

🎁 Make it personal. Add your own title, logo, photo, route or waypoints to create something that’s genuinely theirs.

🧣 Choose the perfect format. Our weatherproof fabric maps, stylish scarves, adventure-ready Toobs and other useful formats mean there’s something for every kind of explorer.

📲 Share the fun! Our unique share button lets you send your map to friends and family. Make them giggle, get them planning, give them a fright, or simply invite them to buy the map for somewhere you can explore together.

And unlike another Christmas novelty, a SplashMap can become a companion on adventures for years to come. It won’t get soggy like paper, and it doesn’t depend on a phone battery or signal to help you find your way.

This Christmas, give them more than a present. Give them a place, a memory, a plan, a laugh — and a reason to get outside together.
