It was so great to be a part of The SkyRide Bournemouth event, managed by my friends at Slick Events.  David Williams and his team made all the right choices and planned an amazing spectacle in the sun-drenched resort town.

The Spirit of todays huge success for British Cycling was very much alive last night!  Our own Tour de France was meeted-out on the traffic-free streets of Bournemouth.

Our maps were popular and I am very short on New Forest and Purbeck Island maps all of a sudden!  Loads of great customers were interested in our whole range of maps and we had heaps of fun and laughter as I tried to get my pitch straight and hold down my gazebo which kept doing kite impersonations.  Thanks to the good tourists of Bournemouth it never drifted very far!

The Slick Events team were great, even giving me a replacement gazebo and a more promanent position near the finish line where passing trade literally walked through our maps.

With such a carnival atmosphere around everything “bike” at the moment, I’m itching for the Skyride Southampton next Sunday!
