We’re staying ahead of the game at SplashMaps! February has been a busy month for listening to our customers, learning new techniques and making some amazing advances in our New Improved SplashMaps. You get clear official rights of way, more pubs and a map designed exclusively for you! What more could you need?
1) Clearer routes for 4 hoofs, 2 tyres and those off-roaders with motors! – Super Clear Rights of Way!
Bridle Paths, Byways and off-road Cycle Paths are easily told apart on the SplashMap of the New Forest
Our new maps will contain rights of way information directly from the Local Authorities! Where this data is available we can differentiate between byways, restricted byways, bridle paths and foot paths.
This is great news for Horse riders, Trail bikes, Mountain bikes and 4 Wheel Drives.
We’ve kept our super-clear map of the roads and tracks. These rights of way appear as coloured highlights. We’ve designed this so you can use the maps whilst on the move, quickly spotting where the next suitable trail may be.
You can order these Improved Maps now for the New Forest or use our bespoke service for any other part of the country.
2) More Pubs and Trails! – Better use of the OpenStreetMap
We’ve also learnt a lot more from our friends at the OpenStreetMap! As our #REALoutdoor adventurers have already discovered we have more of their favourite routes mapped than can be found on the Ordnance Survey maps! Because we have removed a lot of the clutter in these traditional maps, we can fit in the things you’ve said you want for your adventure!
We’ve retained out super clear road and track detail so you can easily get to and from your adventure
We now use more categories from the OpenStreetMap, boosting the number of pubs and car parks as well as revealing more of the trail.
3) Something just for you! – An offer of a Bespoke Map service
We announced our bespoke mapping service this month and since then we’ve had requests from the Military, from Charity Events, Mountain bike events, Cycle Shops and …my favourite… a slightly more adventurous wedding! Guest will mark on the map where the Happy Couple should trek during their stay on one of our beautiful Scottish Islands for Honeymoon!
