From Olympia to the South Pole: SplashMaps’ Adventures with Jordan Wylie

Some adventures are simply too big to memorialise as a few photographs on your phone. Jordan Wylie’s are just that kind of adventure.

Our SplashMaps journey with Jordan began at the Adventure Travel Show at Olympia in 2019. We quickly discovered a shared belief in the power of adventure – and in doing something that really matters.

A veteran of the British Army, Jordan lives by a brilliant principle: “Be the difference that makes the difference.” We’ve seen that attitude first-hand as SplashMaps have travelled with him through some extraordinary challenges.

We supported Jordan’s Rowing Dangerously challenge, followed his adventures with Paddle Britain, and then, last year, watched with admiration as he headed to Antarctica. There, Jordan conquered three new peaks before pushing on towards the ultimate prize: the South Pole.

And he didn’t arrive empty-handed. Jordan followed his SplashMap all the way there too – resulting in the unforgettable image of him at the South Pole with his map. It demonstrates exactly what we love about SplashMaps: they become part of the adventure, collecting memories along the way and becoming something you can keep long after the expedition is over.

Now I’m delighted that Jordan is joining me for a forthcoming episode of the Adventure Habits Podcast. He’ll announce his next challenge, the biggest ascent of Everest ever. We’ll be talking adventure, resilience, motivation and what drives someone to keep pushing beyond their limits.
