David Overton was project Manager and Arnulf Christl technology lead in the ESDIN Project (a European Spatial Data Infrastructure). The 3 year project succeeded in creating the environment within which National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies can commence harmonising map data interoperate and become more and freely accessible. The tools and protocols continue to be a standard for Europe’s Map data and a leading example for all other data interchange and sharing.
