How appropriate are SplashMaps as Maps for Adventure Travel?

We sent a map of the Assam’s Manas Tiger Reserve to famous adventurer Col. John Blashford-Snell who heads the Scientific Exploration Society and is leading an expedition to the region later this month to help tribes in the area. The adventure will be on Elephant back!
